Sky has launched a new ‘Thank you’ campaign for fans of the eight-season show across Primesight’s large format digital network.
With the series finale having just finished broadcasting in the US and due live tonight, many Game of Thrones (GoT) fans will be feeling sorry for themselves, grabbing the tissues in mourning and scrambling for a new show to fill the void.
In response to viewers’ sustained following of the series since its humble beginnings in 2011, Sky has launched a new campaign across Primesight’s D48 and D96 network that thanks fans for being so passionate in supporting the show across all eight seasons. Playing on puns that include names such as ‘Lannisters’, ‘Dothraki’ and ‘The Watch’, Sky has chosen large format digital sites to provide great coverage and impact across a two-day period.
Marking the end of an era, Sky has approached this campaign with the intention of giving back to the fans, with an understanding that there is so much choice in online and TV programming and that their loyalty has been recognised.
Sam Patel, Primesight Business Director says, “As Game of Thrones sadly comes to an end, Sky wanted to thank all their loyal fans for supporting the series. We worked with Rapport to build a tactical two-day campaign thanking fans on the eve of the final show, and posting a final message the next day. Our aim was to reach as many followers as possible, whilst also delivering high impact around the most anticipated TV series ending. By utilising our Network, we can achieve great cover and deliver a campaign which fans would be grateful for.”
