On Wednesday 17 October at BT Tower, Primesight held the first ever airports event, featuring speakers and panellists from across the advertising sector.
Our guests began their day with cloudy but spectacular views from the top of BT Tower, admiring the capital over breakfast. After our guests had their fill of selfie taking and pastries, Matt Teeman, MD, Primesight opened the morning with an introduction to the airport landscape and the 138 million passengers served by Primesight airports.
The first speaker was Jon Hawkins (from Escapism and Foodism magazine) who introduced the room to 'The Modern Traveller', what sets her apart and how brands can best target her.
Travelzoo's Joel Brandon-Bravo introduced 'The Future of Travel', declaring that we're firmly in the middle of the third travel revolution and outlining what that means for companies operating within the travel sector - whether they're looking to launch new products or ride the next wave of innovation.
Nick Chiarelli from Foresight Factory brought 'Technological Innovation in Airports' to life with a number of exciting developments for the sector, as well as concrete ways data can be used to deliver the best customer experience.
Discussing the potency of the airport environment for delivering brand fame, experience and sales within such a captivating space, David Peters chaired a panel that included:
London Gatwick Airport's Rachel Bulford ended 'The Sky's the Limit' with impressive numbers from behind the scenes of the 80 shops, 36 restaurants and 21 bureau de change units for which she is responsible at the UK's second busiest airport.
Matt Teeman closed the event at 11am to applause, and a thank you to the audience, panellists and speakers.
Photos from the event can be viewed on Primesight's Flickr page and presentations from the speakers are available via your Primesight representative.
