Swansea is home to over 241,000 residents in the South West. The municipal city is the second largest in the country – a result of its economic development from the late eighteenth century. Swansea was nicknamed “Copperopolis” due to the enormous volume of the metal manufactured and distributed.
The city has established itself as an economic stronghold within South Wales, exceeding national salary averages over recent years – making it a great place for businesses to advertise.
Swansea prides itself on its customer, professional and financial sector services; it’s the home of the DVLA headquarters as well as other company offices from the likes of HSBC, Virgin Media and Amazon.
To the west of the city is the Gower Peninsula which was the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. To the north are the Lliw uplands which lead to the foothills of ‘Black Mountain’ and to the east you'll find the scenic Swansea coastal bay.Click here to find billboards near you >
Twelve miles from the Welsh capital, Newport (Casnewydd) is the country’s third biggest city with a population close to 150,000. The city forms part of the 1.1m strong Cardiff-Newport metropolitan area.
Newport is undergoing one of the most significant regeneration projects in the UK and continues to thrive on the back of hosting major events such as the 2010 Ryder Cup and the Nato Summit in 2014. The global appeal of Newport is enhanced by the arrival of the International Convention Centre Wales at the Celtic Manor Resort which is expected to bring 100,000 bedroom nights to the area every year.
The recent opening of Friars Walk created over 36,000 square metres of shopping and leisure in Newport city centre, and the Newport masterplan will expand the city centre to the banks of the River Usk which is also home to the city’s Riverfront Arts Centre and major sporting teams.Click here to find billboards near you >
